Fresh off AFF triumph, Flanigan, Maniti join Filipinas U18 in Indonesia

Straight from helping the country win its first AFF crown, Isabella Flanigan and Chantelle Maniti are in line for another tour of duty.

The duo is set to be part of the Philippines Under-18 Women’s Team that is set to compete in the AFF U18 Women’s Championship in Palembang, Indonesia, next week.

Flanigan and Maniti will lead 25 young Filipinas as they gun for the Philippines’ second AFF title.

Aspen Dunn, Ma. Andrea Evangelista, and Samantha Link will compete to be the team’s starting goalkeeper.

Maniti will be the senior member in the defense as she will be expected to lead the likes of Stella Divino, Elisha Lubiano, Maxine Pascual, Jenny Perez, Micha Santiago, Rae Tolentino, Kylie Yap, and Lhei Ycong in the backline.

In the midfield, Mish Castañares, Kyza Colina, Francesca Crespo, Jade Jalique, Sophia Lyttle, Karen Mae Mangantang, Celina Salazar, and Mikaela Villacin will fight to earn spots in the middle of the park.

Lastly, Flanigan will take charge of the forwards, which include Angely Alferez, Jodi Mae Banzon, and Jonalyn Lucban.

The team will be coached by Far Eastern University mentor Let Dimzon, who will be assisted by Gerald Orcullo, Arvin Jay Soliman, and Kim Versales.

The young Filipinas prepared for the tourney at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite and at the Greenfield City Sports Field in Santa Rosa, Laguna. They already left for Indonesia yesterday.

Flanigan, Maniti, and the rest of the team start their campaign against Australia on Monday. They shall then face Myanmar on Wednesday, and go up against Malaysia on Friday.
