There was sense of relief for the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Altas after they snapped their three-game losing skid, Tuesday evening. However, for two of the Altas, the day just got longer.
After the Altas finished singing the Perpetual Hymn, Frankie Lim pulled rookies Jielo Razon and Tonton Peralta to the side. He then made them run a suicide split right in the middle of the Filoil Flying V Centre.
And it’s because of a mortal sin they committed in their game against the Arellano University Chiefs.
“There’s no reason for you to miss open layups.”
It is a practice the militaristic Lim has been doing in Perpetual’s practices if they missed layups during their drills.
Both Peralta and Razon missed layups in the game, with Peralta blanking on a wide-open layup that drew the ire of the decorated NCAA champion coach.
As the two ran, the Perpetualites who were in attendance laughed, with some even taking videos.
“We do it everyday in practice. It’s a must. That’s why I made them run.”
Lesson learned for Tonton and Jielo.
