Powered by Ed Daquioag, Marikina notched its second straight win to even its record at 4-4, while handing Parañaque its eighth consecutive defeat in the round-robin elimination phase of the two-division tournament.

Daquioag, a former standout for University of Santo Tomas, erupted in the third quarter with 15 points, stretching Marikina’s lead to 71-48 with 2:19 remaining in the period.

After knocking down six of his nine attempts from beyond the arc, Daquioag finished with 29 points — all scored in the first three quarters — along with two rebounds.

Louie Vigil tallied 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, while Lander Canon contributed 12 points, eight rebounds, and two assists for Marikina, which led throughout and built its biggest advantage at 84-57.
