Terrence Fortea caught fire as San Juan routed Bacolod, 128-85, to secure its third straight win in the 2026 MPBL season on Saturday at the Orion Sports Complex in Bataan.
Fortea needed just 14 minutes to pour in 16 points built on four triples, helping the Knights improve to a 5-1 record — good for second place in the North Division.
Four other Knights finished in double figures, with Orlan Wamar posting 18 points and 14 assists, while Patrick Sleat added 15 points, five rebounds, and two steals in only 10 minutes of action.
JP Boral and AC Soberano chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively, as every San Juan player managed to score in the contest.
Mike Phillips also delivered nine points and 11 rebounds.
Kobe Dalisay led the 1-7 Masskaras with 26 points.
Earlier, Marikina extended Parañaque’s woes with a dominant 94-69 victory.
Powered by Ed Daquioag, Marikina notched its second straight win to even its record at 4-4, while handing Parañaque its eighth consecutive defeat in the round-robin elimination phase of the two-division tournament.
Daquioag, a former standout for University of Santo Tomas, erupted in the third quarter with 15 points, stretching Marikina’s lead to 71-48 with 2:19 remaining in the period.
After knocking down six of his nine attempts from beyond the arc, Daquioag finished with 29 points — all scored in the first three quarters — along with two rebounds.
Louie Vigil tallied 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, while Lander Canon contributed 12 points, eight rebounds, and two assists for Marikina, which led throughout and built its biggest advantage at 84-57.
JR Alabanza and Jonathan Medina added eight points apiece for the Shoemasters.
Parañaque, the worst-performing team among the league’s 28 squads, got 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists from Marlon Monte.
