Finally pain-free, Teng vows to give optimal performance

After missing the De La Salle University’s last two games, Jeron Teng suited up Saturday afternoon when the Green Archers faced the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons. And Teng did not miss a beat.

In the first 10 minutes of the game, the King Archer powered La Salle’s early surge scoring nine points in the frame. Moreover, he was able to move with ease on the court as he defended King Maroon Jett Manuel for 31 minutes. Teng was able to finish the game with 21 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block.

The 22-year-old shared after the game that he is relieved that he can finally play without any pain.

“I never felt better this season, since the start there was really a struggle. Ngayon, parang dito ko mailalabas yung laro ko,” said Teng, who had treatment for bone spurs on his left heel.

“Ako, bibigay ko lang yung best ko. Ilang games nalang ako sa La Salle, every game I’m just giving 100 percent,” he added.

And with a line-up that is finally complete and healthy, it’s a huge relief for head coach Aldin Ayo.

“Maganda. Kasi they’re playing as a team right now,” Ayo added. “Kung ano yung binabat sa amin, may pang counter na kami.”
