Pound-for-pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather has finally signed on the dotted line.
In a shots.com post shared by the official Floyd Mayweather account at 7:19am Manila Time (3:19pm Pacific Time), Mayweather took a picture of a signed copy of the contract for the $250 million superfight against fellow pound-for-pound king Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. The fight is set at welterweight (147 lbs.) and will unify the WBC, WBO, and WBA World Welterweight championships.
Mayweather then added this caption: What the world has been waiting for has arrived. Mayweather vs. Pacquiao on May 2, 2015, is a done deal. I promised the fans we would get this done, and we did. We will make history on May 2nd. Don’t miss it! This is the signed contract from both fighters.
After weeks and weeks of speculation, including rumors that the fight will be announced either during the NFL’s Superbowl weekend or the NBA’s All Star Game, the fight is now set in stone. The fight is set to take place on May 2, 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Lead boxing analyst Kevin Iole has also confirmed the fight via his Twitter account:
