Filipino MMA journeyman Trestle “Jun Minion” Tan was coming off a loss against Pedro Paulino four months ago in Malaysia with the MIMMA promotion.
As Korean welterweight Dae Ryeong Kim succumbed to an injury that forced him to withdraw from his bout against Jeff “The Machine” Huang, ONE Championship replaced Kim with Tan in a rematch of their match at PRO FC 10 in Taiwan.
In their first bout, Tan and Huang first faced off with the Pacific Rim Organized Fighting in Taiwan. Tan needed just nine seconds to dispose of the Taiwanese fighter.
Last Saturday, the rematch was set. Unfortunately for the Filipino, the result was different. “The Machine” came out aggressive right from the get go as he bombarded “Jun Minion” with quick combinations. As the punches kept coming, Tan was knocked down from a huge overhand right by the Taiwanese. At least five more punches landed on the grounded Tan before referee Peter Zhao had seen enough. The fight was stopped at the 1:30 mark of the contest.
