Gilas Pilipinas will have the SMART Araneta Coliseum as homecourt come the 2023 FIBA World Cup pool stages while Team USA will have the SM Mall of Asia Arena as homebase.
This after FIBA unveiled the eight pots for the upcoming World Cup draw which will take place on April 29 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
Pot 1 will have the Philippines, Spain, USA, and Australia while Pot 2 has France, Serbia, Slovenia, and Lithuania.
Pot 3 will feature Greece, Italy, Germany, and Brazil while Canada, Venezuela, Montenegro, and Puerto Rico.
Iran, the Dominican Republic, Finland, and New Zealand are in Pot 5 while Pot 6 has China, Latvia, Mexico, and Georgia.
Finally, Pots 7 and 8 will have Jordan, Japan, Angola, and Ivory Coast; and Lebanon, Egypt, South Sudan, and Cape Verde.
Nations from pots 1, 3, 5, and 7 will either go to Groups A, C, E, and G.
Gilas will automatically be in Pool A while Team USA headlines Pool C.
Groups A and B will play at the Big Dome while C and D will be at MOA Arena.
Groups E and F will be played at Okinawa Arena and will feature Japan and Slovenia, respectively.
Group H will have Canada. Groups G and H games will be hosted by Indonesia.
For the rest of the pool, there will be one Asian, one American, one African, and one or two European teams.
The World Cup will take place from August 25 to September 10. The playoffs will be played at the Philippine Arena.
