FEU bolsters Tams, gains commitment of Gilas Youth’s Jayden Jones, American big Montell Shelton


The Sean Chambers era has truly begun at Far Eastern University.

The PBA great has secured the commitments of former Gilas Youth standout Jayden Jones and American student-athlete Montell Shelton.

Jones is a 6-foot-2 guard who previously suited up for Gilas during the FIBA Under-16 Asian Championship in 2022.

He was teammates with former Tamaraw and now UST Growling Tiger Renzo Competente.

During the NBTC-Manila Live tournament, he played for the Manila Live team, averaging 14.2 points in five games played.

Meanwhile, Shelton is a burly 6-foot-9 big man who spent two years with Consumnes River.

In what ended up as his last season with the Hawks, he averaged 4.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.

Jones will have a full five years of eligibility in the UAAP starting in Season 87.

Meanwhile, Shelton will replace Mohamed Konateh as the Tamaraws’ FSA come Season 88.
