FEU appoints Raiza Palmera-Dy as Lady Tams head coach

Far Eastern University has brought back one of its greats to lead its women’s basketball program.

Raiza Palmera-Dy has been named the head coach of the Lady Tamaraws, starting with UAAP Season 87.

“Welcome back, Raiza Palmera-Dy, the new Head Coach of the FEU Women’s Basketball Team,” read the school’s statement about the 33-year-old cage great.

Palmera-Dy led FEU to two UAAP titles, winning in Seasons 71 and 74. She was also crowned MVP in Season 74.

After her collegiate career, she represented the Philippines in numerous international competitions.

Two years ago, Palmera-Dy also won Rookie of the Year honors in the WNBL-Pilipinas.2021-22-Pia-WNBL-Paranaque-vs-Glutagence-Raiza-Palmera-Dy-Glutagence-scaled FEU appoints Raiza Palmera-Dy as Lady Tams head coach Basketball FEU News UAAP - philippine sports news

She replaces long-time head coach Bert Flores, who will still be part of the management of FEU’s basketball teams.

However, the last two seasons have not been kind to the Lady Tamaraws, finishing with a total of just five wins.

FEU is hoping that Palmera-Dy’s arrival will be the shot in the arm the program needs.
