As expected, June Mar Fajardo was named the 2015 PBA Season Most Valuable Player Friday at the PBA Leos at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Fajardo, who was also named PBA Governors’ Cup Best Player of the Conference less than a week ago, beat other nominees Jayson Castro and Greg Slaughter for the distinction.
It is the San Miguel big’s second straight MVP plum, making him only the fourth player in PBA to win back to back MVP trophies after Bogs Adornado, Alvin Patrimonio, and Danny Ildefonso.
Fajardo was also named member of the Mythical First Team, All-Defensive Team, and was awarded th Sportmanship trophy.
Joining Fajardo in the Mythical First Team are Greg Slaughter, Paul Lee, Arwind Santos, and Jayson Castro.
Members of the Mythical Second Team are Asi Taulava, Calvin Abueva, Ranidel de Ocampo, Terrence Romeo, and Stanley Pringle.
Pringle was also named Rookie of the Year while Romeo was the Most Improved Player.
The other All-Defensive Team members are Gabe Norwood, Calvin Abueva, Chris Ross, and Ping Exciminiano.
