Extra Rice Inc. reunion ends up in ‘ligang labas’ brawl

A much-awaited reunion between Cebuano JR Quiñahan and Beau Belga ended up in another black eye for Philippine basketball.

In the opening day of a two-day exhibition tournament organized by Northball, the two PBA bruisers figured in a scuffle with import-laden team Sirius Star on Saturday at Carmen Municipal Gym.

As seen in a video that made the rounds on social media, Quiñahan and a Sirius Star player figured in a box out situation.

The Sirius Star player suddenly threw punches at Quiñahan, which resulted in a melee. Belga then threw the ball at the import before being separated.

Robert Bolick of Northport, Jio Jalalon of Magnolia, Steve Nash Enriquez of National University, and Kyt Jimenez of General Santos were also teammates of Belga and Quinahan.

Day 2 of the tournament is scheduled in Mandaue.

The PBA allows its players to play in unsanctioned games during off-seasons for as long as they have clearance from their mother teams.
