Caloocan-Victory Liner ended its 2019-20 Chooks-to-Go/MPBL Lakan Season with a tight 93-90 win over Mindoro-JAC Liner, Wednesday at the Caloocan Sports Complex.
Carlo Escalambre pumped in 35 points on 13-of-24 shooting clip on top of five assists, four rebounds, and two steals.
Down by 13 points in the final frame, Richard Abanes and Mac Baracael spearheaded a furious 15-2 rally to tie the game at 82-all with 2:38 remaining.
Behind Paul Sanga and Cedric Labing-isa, Caloocan managed to put up a five-point cushion with 1:15 left.
Not wanting to go down easily, Baracael and Kerr Bangeles were able to trim it to one with a 5-1 spurt, 90-91. Labing-isa then iced the game with two charities.
“Sinabi ko lang sa kanila na enjoy the game. This is our last game. Ibigay na natin sa Caloocan,” said Caloocan head coach John Kallos.
Labing-isa stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and four steals. Meanwhile, Paul Sanga had 15 points, 16 rebounds, and seven assists.
Caloocan finished the elimination phase with a 16-14 standing, falling to the ninth place of the North Division.
On the other hand, Baracael finished with 29 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists.
The Tamaraws capped off their campaign with a 9-21 card.
