Eric Cray finds redemption, leads 4x100m team to SEAG gold

CAPAS, TARLAC — Eric Cray found his redemption quickly Sunday, steering the Philippines’ 4×100 meter mixed relay team to gold at the NCC Athletics Center.

Earlier in the day, the Filipino-American was disqualified from the 100m run after figuring in two false starts during the qualifiers.

This time, though, only a strong finish happened.

Down entering the final stretch to Thailand and Malaysia, Kristina Knott passed the baton to Cray. Unlike everyone else, Cray was the only male runner to run the final 100m.

Cray blasted past the competition, leading the team to a 41.67 second finish.

Other members of the team were Anfernee Lopena and Eloiza Luzon.

Thailand clocked in at 41.99s, while Malaysia finished with bronze with a time of 42.20.
