Thirdy Ravena and San-En will be advancing to the next round of the 2022-23 Emperor’s Cup after routing Toyama, 93-80, Saturday at Hayami Park Physical Education Cultural Center.
Ravena scored 15 points in the win, paving the way for the NeoPhoenix to face Shibuya on Sunday at the same venue.
Five other Filipinos advanced to the next round of the All-Japan tournament.
Kobe Paras and the Altiri Chiba blew out Yamagata, 101-73, at Wind Hill Kushiro Super Arena. Paras went scoreless in five minutes of action.
Matthew Aquino, meanwhile, scored eight points in Shinshu’s 96-64 win over Niigata at White Ring.
Chiba will next face Dwight Ramos and Levanga Hokkaido while the Brave Warriors will take on FE Nagoya.
Ray Parks, on the other hand, sat out Nagoya’s 98-77 win over Sendai. The Diamond Dolphins will next face Hiroshima, who defeated Kiefer Ravena and Shiga earlier in the day, 89-80.
Justine Baltazar went scoreless in two minutes of action while Kiefer Ravena got 16 points, seven assists, and five rebounds.
Greg Slaughter and Fukuoka also advanced to the second stage of round three after beating Nara, 88-82. Slaughter only tallied two points in the game and will look to produce more when they face Ibaraki.
The other Filipinos were not as fortunate.
Jordan Heading’s 10 points were not enough to lift Nagasaki past Ehime, bowing 96-99.
Matthew Wright scored 12 points in Kyoto’s 82-101 loss to Gunma.
Finally, Roosevelt Adams was a DNP in Kagawa’s 66-78 loss to Shibuya.
