Eka Soriano set to be runaway UAAP Women’s MVP


Add Eka Soriano to the list of University of Santo Tomas greats.

The 22-year-old sophomore out of Perpetual Help is the runaway Most Valuable Player for the UAAP Season 85 Women’s Basketball Tournament.

She joins Marichu Bacaro (2008) and Grace Irebu (2018-19) as MVPs out of UST.

Soriano tallied a whopping 92.286 statistical points — 15.286 SPs higher than runner-up and Rookie of the Year Kacey Dela Rosa of Ateneo.

Dela Rosa, meanwhile, normed 16.42 points, 14.08 rebounds, and 3.08 blocks per game.

Joining the two in the Mythical Team are Ateneo Jhazmin Joson (74.714 SPs), UST’s Tacky Tacatac (73.429), and Adamson’s Victoria Adeshina (72.214).
