Eka Soriano miles ahead in UAAP 85 MVP race

It looks like another Tigress will run away with the UAAP’s women’s basketball MVP plum.

Three years after Grace Irebu took the MVP plum, University of Santo Tomas’ Eka Soriano is leading the race via a wide margin after Round 1 of the Season 85 tournament.

Soriano averaged 16.43 points, 5.29 rebounds, 7.29 assists, and 4.29 steals per game to tally a whopping 101.143 SPs.

Second in the race is the leading freshman of the batch Kacey Dela Rosa.

With norms of 19.8 points, 15.7 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game, the product of Chiang Kai Shek accumulated 87.8 SPs to lead all rookies.

Sitting at third is Ateneo’s Jhazmin Joson with 81.429 SPs while two National University standouts complete the top five in Ann Pingol (74.8) and Camille Clarin (74.286).

The rest of the top 10 are UST’s Tacky Tacatac (73.857); La Salle’s Charmine Torres (69.571) and Fina Niantcho Tchuido (68.0); NU’s Tin Cayabyab (67.286); and UST’s Bridgette Santos (63.826).
