E-Gilas has new challenger in E-Boomers come FIBA Esports Open

E-Gilas Pilipinas will have a new challenger when it defends its FIBA Esports Open Southeast Asia Conference title this weekend.

Besides Indonesia, the Philippine National NBA 2K team will also face Australia as the latter has been added to the division.

During the inaugural edition of the tournament, Aguila, Alt, Clark, Izzo, Rak, Rial, and Shintarou completed a five-game sweep of Indonesia, winning by an average of 32.8 points per game.

At the same time, Australia took down New Zealand to cop the Oceania title, winning 4-1.

Composing Australia are AnkleTV, Cqopr, DunkGod, Range, Squogs, and Waurk.

Like the first edition of the online tournament, the entire series will be produced from the FIBA Esports Studio in Riga, Latvia, with 54 hours of live content being streamed on FIBA’s Facebook, Twitch and YouTube channels.

Each game will be available online with live commentary in English, as well as a daily show featuring up to 12 games.
