Dwight Ramos and Toyama endured another defeat at the hands of Nick Fazekas and Kawasaki, falling late in a 74-87 loss in the 2021-22 B.League season, Sunday at Kawasaki City.
And just like their 87-91 loss yesterday, it was the endgame that proved to be the difference.
With the game knotted at 63-all after a split on the stripe by Ramos, the Brave Thunders went on an 11-2 spurt sparked and capped by booming triples courtesy of Nick Fazekas.
Unstoppable was Fazekas in the final frame, scoring 14 of his 36 points during the last 10 minutes of the contest.
Frustration also mounted for the Grouses after officials whistled Julian Mavunga for a technical foul late in the game.
The Brave Thunders led by as much as 15 points in the final quarter.
Pablo Aguilar complemented Fazekas with 15 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and three assists as Kawasaki rose to 8-3 in the east.
For Toyama, Ramos was held down to eight points on five attempts with seven rebounds and two assists.
Leading the way for the Grouses was Mavunga with 28 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. However, he committed five turnovers as well.
Joshua Smith added 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting with nine rebounds as Toyama fell to 1-10 in the west.
Toyama will next face Kyoto on Wednesday at the Kyoto City Gymnasium.
