Gilas will have a key piece from Tab Baldwin’s iteration of the team for the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers’ first window.
Dwight Ramos will return to the country tomorrow, Friday and will immediately head to TNT’s and Gilas’ bubble in Batangas.
New Gilas head coach Chot Reyes confirmed the development on Spin Zoom In, adding that Ramos will arrive tomorrow.
This means that Ramos will miss Toyama’s game against Ibaraki at Adastria Mito Arena.
The 6-foot-4 Filipino-American winger was the lead man of Gilas during the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. He carried the Philippines to a 6-0 record with averages of 13.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
After his stint with Gilas, he signed with B.League team Toyama. There, he is currently norming 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per contest.
Gilas takes on South Korea twice, India, and New Zealand in the window that takes place from February 24-28 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
