It did not take long for Dwight Ramos to find a new team in the B.League.
Moments after Toyama announced that the 6-foot-4 Filipino-American winger has not renewed with them, Hokkaido announced that it has signed Ramos for the 2022-23 B.League season.
“I’m very excited to play for Hokkaido next season,” said Ramos. “I was able to visit Hokkaido twice the last season and I loved the city both times.
“I’m also looking forward to playing with very talented players in Hokkaido and hopefully making a run in the playoffs next season!”
In his first season as a pro, Ramos normed 10.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in 46 games played with Toyama.
Ramos played the last two games of the season against Levanga, averaging 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. The two squads split the series.
However, the Grouses floundered in the standings with a 24-35 record last season — seventh in the west.
Levanga, meanwhile, is looking to rebuild its team after a 21-35 finish last season.
