Dorian Pena watched his team, Barako Bull, play two extra periods and lose a tough match.
For a veteran center who played in a many-time champion squad like San Miguel Beer, seeing his team losing in the end game and not being able to help out is more painful than recovering from an injured knee.
“I’m sick and tired sitting my ass,” Pena told Tiebreaker Times in an exclusive interview.
The good news is, Pena might be able to rejoin the team soon as he has just signed a one year contract extension. Pena said he wanted to repay the opportunity given to him by Barako Bull management as well as the care showed by the organization when he was treating his injured knee.
“I appreciate the management for re-signing me. Barako was supportive during my injury. In fact, I’m a bit ahead of my schedule with my return. Hopefully, I will continue to make progress,” said Pena.
Pena said he has been running around and getting himself in tip-top shape.
“I’ve been working hard even when I was injured so that my comeback won’t be so rough. I’ve been doing a lot of dieting, too. I’m looking forward to returning to the hardwood as soon as possible,” he added.
