DLSU overcomes FEU’s twice-to-beat advantage to bag a trip to the finals


Out and hungry for the return trip to the finals, the De La Salle women’s table tennis squad would find themselves facing the paddlers from the Far Eastern University, who finished second with the twice-to-beat advantage.

Game 1- October 1, 10am

The upset hungry La Salle would manage to take the first two matches, thanks to 3-0 victories from Ina Co and Ian Labira in their respective assignments. The next two matches however would go to the paddlers from Morayta, after a 3-0 doubles victory from the duo of Soya and Jaro and a thrilling fourth match victory by Pineda. It was Donna Marie Gamilla however who would brighten the morning for La Salle, routing FEU’s Talay, 3-0, to force another encounter in the afternoon.

Game 2- October 1, 1pm

La Salle’s Co and Lariba would manage to pull through in the opening matches, outlasting FEU’s Talay and Fadol to gain the upper hand. The squad from Morayta however would get a lifeline after a narrow 3-2 victory from the duo of Soya and Jaro in the doubles match over La Salle’s Talento and Carreon. It was La Salle who would eventually close the game with the victory,with Donna Marie Gamilla outlasting FEU’s Pineda, three sets to one to force secure the victory for La Salle and the return trip to the finals against UP.
