Coming off from their excellent 2nd round start, the DLSU Green Tennisters were poised to continue their newfound winning streak as they took on the ADMU Blue Tennisters. Luckily for DLSU, fate sided with them as they came out with a 4-1 victory to leave the Blue Tennisters still winless.
Launching an unrelenting assault, the Green Tennisters were quick to notch a win in the singles category. Second singles player Qoqo Allian was the first get a win for his squad after defeating ADMUâs Iyo Canlas 2-6, 6-7 in favour of La Salle. His victory was soon followed by another win courtesy of LA Cañizares who defeated Ino Canlas after a fierce and exciting three-set match which ended 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. The victories of Allain and Cañizares in the singles matches were soon capped by Kyle Parpan who, opposite to the Cañizares-Canlas match, swiftly delivered 6-0, 6-2 against ADMUâs Ralph Antonio.
The doubles matches, however, hosted a hiccup for the DLSU Green Tennisters as they notched the only loss they suffered during the tie after the fall of Dale Gorospe and Bernard Sanchez to ADMUâs Anton Punzalan and Erj Gatdula 6-2, 6-2. The loss was soon avenged by the duo of Akio Sy and Alberto Villamor who ended the tie with a victory over ADMUâs Aj Rivero and Johann Exconde, 6-2, 6-4.
