Denden Lazaro-Revilla held the fort for Choco Mucho, receiving the heavy spikes from F2 Logistics led by Lindsay Stalzer and Kalei Mau.
And the 5-foot-5 libero was successful enough, leading the Flying Titans to a 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 26-24 victory over the Cargo Movers on Thursday night in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
Revilla was all over the floor with 26 excellent digs and 11 excellent receptions.
More importantly, Stalzer was limited to 26 points on just a 31.6 percent attack rate while Mau was a woeful 15-of-57 in her spikes.
“Masarap tulog ko mamaya,” quipped Revilla after emerging as victors in the two-hour 15-minute battle with F2 Logistics.
“It’s tough. They’re strong, they have more experience than I do but I’m really thankful na nakapag-prepare kami nang maayos today and nandiyan yung teammates ko para sumalo sa akin.”
But for Choco Mucho head coach Oliver Almadro, having great performances from Revilla is a given.
And it’s a perk that the Flying Titans relish from a seasoned veteran.
“That’s Den Lazaro. Yan naman talaga si Den eh, sinasabi ko nga sa kanya iiwanan na namin yan bahala ka na diyan,” said the animated bench tactician.
“So if you have a player like that, parang minus ka na sa iintindihin eh so I’m happy na ganong klaseng player si Den na ‘ako bahala’,” the grand slam Spikers’ Turf champion coach added.
“Kapag may ganon kang player, ganon kang teammate you will never go wrong.”
The Ateneo product also had Odina Aliyeva help her with 27 points and a solid defensive night as well with 29 excellent receptions and 14 digs.
The Flying Titans evened their record at 1-1 and will have a whole week before returning on Thursday against PLDT.
