Demecillo out two weeks due to knee sprain

De La Salle University Lady Spiker Cyd Demecillo will sit out the next two weeks following a right knee sprain she suffered in their win over the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons, last Wednesday.

Demecillo suffered the sprain in the last point of the match, going for a dig. The Cebuana had to be stretchered out of the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The graduating open hitter was already playing a stress fracture in her left shin since the start of the season. She was just cleared to play fully last week.

“MRI results showed negative (for major injuries like ACL or MCL tears). She will need to actively rest for the next two weeks,” said DLSU assistant coach Benson Bocboc.

Demecillo will most likely be unavailable for La Salle’s match on Sunday against the Adamson Lady Falcons at the PhilSports Arena.
