Last season’s Most Valuable Player Kevin Sia and Gerry del Rosario took to the mats to replace Kirk Barbosa and Karl de los Santos respectively in this match-up. The two jins would help DLSU seal the series against the Tamaraws in a 4-3 win.
FEU’s Ariel Bacud would open the finweight match against Paolo Jazmines with an early 3-0 lead. Jazmines tried to overtake Bacud’s 2nd round lead but fell short in a 10-8 win by Ariel Bacud. Former MVP Kevin Sia, with quick reflex and footwork, blasted Eric Garces in an 8-2 routing to tie the series. After two rounds in bantamweight action, Josafat Licayan and Kristian Tagarao were tied 2-all to extend to go into the golden round. Licayan would be the first to connect in the round with a successful body kick to win the match. Elijah Marcelino gained an early 4-0 lead over featherweight Kyle Uy. Kyle Uy would string 5 points, 1 coming from 2 kyonggo’s from Marcelino. Marcelino would connect on 2 body kicks to win the close match-up 6-5 and tie the series once more. Keith Sembrano would give the green-side another match-win with an 8-2 win over Clint Ferrer. With the series on the line, Jayson Samson went toe-to-toe with Gerry del Rosario. After two rounds, the match would go into sudden death. It was del Rosario, however, who connected with a body kick first to seal the match for the Green Jins. Kris Uy would again not compete in the middle-heavyweight match.
