NLEX is gearing up for an exciting new chapter as Jong Uichico has been appointed as the team’s head coach for the PBA’s 49th season.
As the Road Warriors aim for their first franchise championship, they will benefit from the leadership of a seasoned veteran.
Uichico, a two-time PBA Coach of the Year, brings with him a remarkable record of nine PBA titles.
He has previously served as an assistant coach for the Road Warriors, gaining valuable insights and experience with the team.
“NLEX Road Warriors are excited to take this new journey with Coach Jong Uichico,” said Luigi Bautista, NLEX Corporation President and General Manager.
“He brings a wealth of experience to the squad and a clear idea of what it takes to win a championship as the fourth-winningest coach in PBA history.”
Uichico’s head coaching career began in 1999 with the San Miguel Beermen, and he has also led Barangay Ginebra and TNT to championships.
His extensive experience includes a long tenure as an assistant coach for Gilas Pilipinas Men.
Taking over from Coach Frankie Lim, who led the Road Warriors for four conferences and secured two playoff appearances, Uichico steps into a role filled with expectations.
“We are grateful to Coach Frankie Lim for his dedication to the Road Warriors and we thank him for his contributions,” said NLEX Governor Ronald Dulatre.
“We also thank Coach Jong Uichico for taking on this new challenge to lead the Road Warriors as we start our preparations for the upcoming PBA season.”
