LIPA CITY, BATANGAS — Team Dasma’ Mark Calado put everyone on notice after taking home the Most Valuable Player award in the PNVF Champions League, Saturday night.
The 20-year-old Far Eastern University hitter, who has been consistent for the Monarchs in the entire tournament, poured a game-high 18 points to lead Team Dasma to a 19-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-17 victory over the stacked Go for Gold-Air Force in the finals.
Calado also nabbed the first Best Outside Hitter award while Mark Alfafara bagged the second Best Outside Hitter plum.
Team Dasma’s Jayvee Sumagaysay and Kris Silang were also part of the PNVF Champions League Dream Team, winning the first Middle Blocker and Best Setter awards, respectively.
Ricky Marcos of Go for Gold-Air Force was named the Best Libero of the tournament while John Vic De Guzman took home the Best Opposite Spiker hardware.
VNS’ Rwenzmel Taguibolos, who won the second Best Middle Blocker award, completed the Dream Team.
