Cuevas family pledges support for Cabiltes’ EAC

Emilio Aguinaldo College did not just get a new head coach on Thursday evening. It also got itself a booster.

The Cuevas family was in full force during the signing of new Generals head coach Jerson Cabiltes, throwing their all-out support in rebuilding the school’s seniors basketball program.

Cabiltes confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.

“Very happy and fortunate na lagi nandiyan sa likod ko si Boss Bong Cuevas and family niya,” expressed Cabiltes as the Cuevas patriarch was joined by Palayan City Mayor Rianne Cuevas in the dinner held at Emerald Garden.

“Very grateful that they have supported me in every endeavor that I take.”

The Cuevas company Las Islas Innovation Partners will be the main backer of the team.

It is still unknown whether son Ivan Cuevas will serve as team manager for the team come NCAA Season 99.

Cabiltes and Cuevas have had a golden partnership over the last two years.

During their run, Nueva Ecija won championships in both Filbasket and the Maharlike Pilipinas Basketball League.2022-MPBL-Season-Bong-Cuevas Cuevas family pledges support for Cabiltes' EAC Basketball EAC NCAA News - philippine sports news

Despite taking the role of head coach of EAC, Cabiltes will still remain with Nueva Ecija.

For his part, Cabiltes is looking to lead the Generals to their first Final Four appearance in the NCAA.

“We promised the school to make it relevant and competitive for the coming years.”
