Criss Cross showed no signs of slowing down, dominating Alpha Insurance in a clean sweep, 25-17, 25-18, 25-13, to remain unbeaten in the 2026 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference on Wednesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.
The King Crunchers’ impressive net defense and consistent offense kept them firmly atop the standings with a league-best 6-0 record.
Led by the imposing frontline duo of Kim Malabunga and Poy Colinares,
Criss Cross tallied an incredible 17 kill blocks.
Colinares finished with 10 points, including four blocks, while Malabunga added eight markers and five blocks.
Outside hitter Alche Gupiteo paced the offense with 16 points and 10 excellent receptions, and Noel Kampton contributed 12 points with six excellent receptions.
Adrian Villados orchestrated the attack with 12 excellent sets.
“Ano lang, talagang nag-focus kami sa basics. Kasi syempre hindi porket na 5-0 namin ‘yung first round eh ‘yun na ‘yon,” said four-time MVP Jude Garcia, who had eight points.
“Di pa kasi tapos, so kailangan talaga mag-double effort this second round talaga. Kailangan lahat ng games namin, ‘yung effort nandun.”
Criss Cross will look to stretch its unbeaten run to seven games when they face fellow contender Savouge on Friday at 5 p.m.
Alpha Insurance, meanwhile, absorbed its third loss but remains in third place at 3-3.
Edward Camposano led the Protectors with 10 points, while JM Ronquillo and Jau Umandal were limited to seven points apiece.
The Protectors will look to rebound against 3B, which ended a three-game losing streak, holding off VNS Always Bright Laticrete in a four-set thriller, 25-17, 26-24, 14-25, 25-23.

The Event Masters regrouped after dropping the third set and survived a tense fourth frame to claim their second win of the tournament, improving to 2-4.
John Vincent Ramos led 3B with 21 points, while Christhian Olaes contributed 20 points and seven blocks. Carl Berdal added 12 points, and Kenneth Daynata had 10 points along with 15 excellent receptions and seven digs.
Aldre Ferrer set 26 excellent balls, while Joshua Datu anchored floor defense with 19 excellent receptions and seven digs.
VNS Always Bright remains winless at 0-6, with Jerzy Santos scoring 12 points, Winfred Santos 10, and Elijah Guzman 15.
