Following a disappointing 2025 PVL campaign that saw them lose every crown from their historic grand slam, Creamline is making its first major move ahead of the All-Filipino Conference.
Several Cool Smashers, including Michele Gumabao, Lorie Bernardo, and Aleiah Torres, shared photos and videos of former Chery Tiggo libero and Alas Pilipinas standout Jen Nierva during the team’s training session on Friday.
The 25-year-old libero is set to bolster Creamline’s floor defense in the upcoming All-Filipino Conference, as the team looks to reclaim its spot at the top.
Nierva is expected to be a major boost for the Cool Smashers, who finished fifth in reception efficiency (37.29%) and seventh in digs per set (12.63) in last season’s Reinforced Conference.
The former UAAP Best Libero will reunite in club competition with her Alas Pilipinas teammate and close friend Jia De Guzman, who is expected to return to the roster after dedicating the previous year entirely to the national team.
Also returning are former league MVP Bernadeth Pons and Dij Rodriguez, who focused on Alas Pilipinas’ beach volleyball program last year, culminating in a historic gold medal at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.
It’s not just the roster that Creamline has strengthened. They have also bolstered their coaching staff with the addition of Mark Alfafara, who, like Nierva, previously served as a statistician for Chery Tiggo and is currently part of the national team.
