BACARRA, ILOCOS NORTE — Creamline quickly gunned down BaliPure from cloud nine, putting the squad on the wrong end of history via a 25-12, 25-3, 25-15 outing in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center here.
The win puts Creamline to solo top spot with an immaculate 5-0 standing.
Creamline rushed to a 25-12 victory in the first set before letting hell loose on BaliPure come the second frame.
The volleyball Gods turned to the Cool Smashers in the following set which saw them take a lopsided 25-3 win over the Water Defenders for a quick 2-0 advantage.
It was the lowest scoring output in a set in any women’s volleyball tournament SportsVision has organized, according to league statistician Christopher Anore as it beat the four-point output of University of Batangas in the second set of their match against Arellano in the 12th season of the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference.
This was also the worst output in a set at the club level, rewriting the record of Chef’s Classic in 2019 — scoring only five points in the second set of its match against Creamline in the previous Open Conference in 2019.
“Hindi namin inexpect yung ganung laro kasi galing sa two-game winning streak yung BaliPure tapos talagang malakas din sila dumepensa. Nagprepare lang yung team para makuha yung game ngayon,” said Creamline assistant coach Sherwin Meneses.
Alyssa Valdez led the assault with 16 points founded on 10 attacks, four aces, and two blocks along with nine excellent digs.
Michelle Gumabao added 14 points in the win while Jema Galanza chipped in 10 markers.
Creamline setter Jia Morado had 25 excellent sets in the win laced with a point.
BaliPure showed more fight in the third set, but it was already too late as they fell, 15-25.
With the loss, the Water Defenders dropped to a 2-2 slate.
Graze Bombita top-scored BaliPure with seven points while Bern Flora only had four markers.
Creamline will next face Chery Tiggo on Friday at 7:00 PM while BaliPure will face off against Choco Mucho at 3:00 PM.
