The De La Salle Lady Spikers opened their second round with a four-set victory over FEU. DLSU started off slow, taking the first set 25-17 and dropping the second set, 27-29, before regaining their balance and dispatching FEU in the final two sets, 25-14 and 25-9. After the game, La Salle coach Ramil De Jesus was available for an interview.
Coach Ramil lamented the lack of focus his team had during the first two sets, but said inserting Carol Cerveza into the lineup gave his team a much-needed boost. While he wasn’t happy about the way the team played during the start of the game, he was happy that the bench players were ready to play.
“Actually nung first set medyo mababa yung focus, although nakuha yung first set. Nung second set, dun na lumabas. Then nag-adjust ng tao.
So malaking bagay yung pagkakapalit ng opposite namin.
At the same time na-expose sila. Eventually pag kinakailangan mo sila sa ibang games, ayun ready sila.”
DLSU suffered their first loss of the season during their match against Ateneo. The loss didn’t get to Coach Ramil, citing that they can use the game as a way to learn from their mistakes.
Baka di pa naka move-on kaya ganyan yung galaw.”
DLSU’s next opponents are the UP Lady Maroons. While they are without starter Kathy Bersola, Coach Ramil still believes that they are a dangerous team to face.
“Kailangan paghandaan talaga yung UP.
