When Louie Romero decided to return for one last ride with Adamson University, the crafty setter set sights on bringing no less but the championship for the season hosts.
Three games into Season 85, the captain admitted that they are far from being a complete team that can get it all the way.
“Marami pang i-improve talaga yung team namin kasi dapat pag-aralan namin yung bawat galaw ng kalaban namin,” the playmaker out of Kings’ Montessori shared.
“Itong season na ‘to very unpredictable talaga.”
Nonetheless, a great showing against the defending champions National University brought the Lady Falcons back into contender status, and despite the defeat, Romero and company learned so much from it.
The 2022 V-League Best Setter said, “Nag-viewing kami after the game kasi alam naming kaya naming manalo, pero nagkulang lang kami.
“More on aral lang laro, kung ano yung galaw ng kalaban, kaya para maglaro kami sa second round, mabilis lang kami makapag-adjust.”
And the UAAP Season 84 third runners-up took that one step forward with a feisty win against Far Eastern University on Saturday.
“Thank God kasi nakuha namin tong panalo na to. ‘Tong FEU medyo nahirapan kami kasi defensive team sila, magaling sila sa floor, so buti nakuha namin. Nag-work hard talaga kami,” she said.
Early in the season, Romero and the rest of the Lady Falcons knew what has to be done for that title aspirations.
“One game at a time. Pag-aralan ang dapat pag-aralan. Adjustments kasi pabilisan ng adjustments dito sa UAAP.”
