A couple of UAAP champion players have declared for the 2024 PBA Draft.
CJ Cansino and Evan Nelle are the first two players to join the event set to take place on July 14.
Virtual Playground founder Charlie Dy confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.
Cansino, a 6-foot-1 guard from the University of the Philippines, is currently playing for Iloilo in the MPBL.
He is averaging 15.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
Meanwhile, Nelle, a 5-foot-11 floor general from De La Salle University, averaged 11.3 points, 6.9 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.
Cansino is a former UAAP High School Boys’ Basketball MVP, while Nelle has the rare feat of having made both the UAAP and NCAA Mythical Teams.
Also joining the draft from VP are CJ Catapusan and Paul Garcia.
Catapusan is a 6-foot-3 forward who previously played for Adamson and UP. Garcia, on the other hand, is a 5-foot-11 guard from Ateneo.
Catapusan is also playing with Iloilo while Garcia is with Pampanga.
The deadline for submission is July 4.
