Cignal routs Farm Fresh for first win in PVL Invitationals

SANTA ROSA, LAGUNA — Cignal opened its 2024 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference campaign with a commanding 25-16, 25-10, 25-18 win over Farm Fresh, Friday at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex here.

The HD Spikers leveled with the Creamline Cool Smashers at 1-0 for second to third spots, just below 2-0 Kurashiki Ablaze.

“Happy and proud sa team namin kasi ang observation ko, ‘yung improvement namin – the way we played kanina na nagiging automatic na para sa amin ‘yung galaw namin. Hopefully mas ma-improve pa namin and maging better,” said Cignal head coach Shaq Delos Santos.

It was in the third set where the Foxies had their best chance to be on the board but they shot themselves on the foot.

Down by just two midway, 15-17, Caitlin Viray committed two straight attack errors.

Reinforced Conference Best Foreign Guest Player MJ Perez then added two more points to pull away, winning 25-18 for the Cignal straight-sets victory in one hour and 21 minutes.
