Christian Lee wants showdown with Eduard Folayang before going down to featherweight

Reigning ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee is teasing the possibility of gunning for a second World Title in a different division.

But before that, he wants to check some names off his list in his current division first.

Lee, who is set to defend his belt against Iuri Lapicus in the near future, hopes to test himself against some of the division’s staples, including the Philippines’ very own Eduard “Landslide” Folayang.

“I would love to share the ONE Circle with Eduard Folayang. I have a lot of respect for all that he’s accomplished in his career, and I think that we could put on a great show for the fans,” Lee said.

The younger of the famed Lee siblings said that even at 35 years old, Folayang never stops improving.

In his early days in The Home Of Martial Arts, “Landslide” was known primarily as a devastating striker. And the man from Baguio City continues to improve other facets of his game.

The famed Filipino’s resolve and mentality make him even more dangerous as an opponent.

“Eduard is a very good striker and is now rounding out his wrestling and jiu-jitsu. However, I feel that his main strengths are his heart and his killer instinct,” Lee said.

“He’s the two-time former ONE Lightweight World Champion, so he doesn’t have many weaknesses. I think he’s a great fighter.”

Lee, a great warrior in his own right, plans to move back to the featherweight division. There, he hopes to even the score with reigning ONE Featherweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen.

If he can topple the featherweight king, Lee will put himself among the organization’s shortlist of two-division World Champions.

“I am the reigning and undisputed ONE Lightweight World Champion, and the number one contender in the featherweight division,” Lee said.

“The only reason I go back down to featherweight will be to fight for the title.”

ONE returns to action with ONE: NO SURRENDER, a closed-door, audience-free show set for 31 July in Bangkok, Thailand. Catch the action for free by downloading the ONE Super App.
