Chris McCullough led the way as Strong Group secured another dominant win in the 43rd William Jones Cup, defeating Future Sports USA, 112-90, on Thursday afternoon at Xinzhuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
McCullough, a PBA champion import, produced 24 points, 18 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, and two steals to lead Strong Group.
The team has now claimed its fifth win in as many games in the nine-day meet.
Trailing 56-60 at the start of the second half, Strong Group erupted for 33 points in the third quarter to pull away from the Americans.
McCullough scored five points in the quarter, while Tajuan Agee contributed 11 of his 19 points during the surge.
RJ Abarrientos and Jordan Heading added 17 and 11 points, respectively, knocking down seven of Strong Group’s 13 triples.
Allen Liwag and Angelo Kouame also had solid outings, each registering 10 points, with Liwag also grabbing seven boards.
Strong Group will next face Japan’s Under-22 team on Friday.
Future Sports, which fell to 1-4, was led by the 18 points of Hammer Moss.
