Chris Dy flirts with triple-double as Arellano crushes San Sebastian in NCAA 101

Chris Dy delivered an all-around performance to power Arellano University to a commanding 91-62 victory over San Sebastian College-Recoletos, securing their first win in the NCAA Season 101 Juniors Basketball Tournament Group A on Tuesday at the Filoil Centre.

The 5-foot-11 guard from Camiguin stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points on an efficient 7-of-11 shooting, while also dishing out 10 assists and grabbing nine rebounds.

It was a strong bounce-back effort for Dy and the Braves after their heartbreaking 80-83 loss to the Malayan Red Robins last October 4.

Dy had plenty of help from his teammates as Ray Ladica knocked down two triples en route to 16 points and John Baluyot chipped in 12 points. Sean Franco added 12 points and eight rebounds, while Shawn Vergara contributed 10 points.

Also bouncing back was Emilio Aguinaldo College–Immaculate Conception Academy, which carved out a 60-51 win over Jose Rizal University in Group B play.

Kelly Coronel spearheaded the Brigadiers with 16 points, six rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

Clint Bonus and Tristan Allam provided additional support with 10 points apiece, helping their squad recover from an 89-91 setback against the LSGH Greenies.

San Sebastian, which also fell to Perpetual on opening weekend, 61-78, once again leaned on the efforts of Khaizer Castillo and Browyn Tepan.

Castillo finished with 12 points and five rebounds, while Tepan tallied 11 points and nine boards, though the duo combined for just 9-of-27 shooting from the field.

Meanwhile, CJ Satparam stood out as the lone bright spot for the winless Light Bombers (0-2), posting 15 points and seven rebounds.
