With the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers opening its curtains in three weeks time, Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes is barring the team’s pool players and staff away from unnecessary distractions for the team’s first practice Friday night.
Reyes went to social media platform Twitter to ask for understanding from the fans and the members from the press.
Yes we will practice but behind closed doors. No Gilas player/coach will grant any interview in d meantime. I hope you understand #???❤️

Expected to attend tonight’s practice are the core of the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup team that competed in Beirut, Lebanon last August and, as well as, the Gilas cadets.
Amid the board room warfare happening in the PBA, all 12 club teams have vowed to not let their personal egos get in the way of the national team that is set to take on Japan on Friday, November 24 in Tokyo and Chinese-Taipei on Monday, November 27 in Manila.
