Chooks-to-Go, SBP bring Kai Sotto home for U19 World Cup

Before Kai Sotto left the Philippines to train abroad last March, Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas made a vow to him and his family.

“Whether nandito si Kai or sa labas ng bansa, our support will continue,” said Mascariñas.

With the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup just a few weeks away, Gilas Pilipinas Youth need to be complete in practices. And Chooks-to-Go made sure of that.

The company, together with the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, financed the tickets not just for Sotto, but for his entire family from Atlanta, Georgia to Manila.

The Sotto family left Atlanta on Thursday evening and will arrive on Friday.

“We always promote the importance of family in Chooks-to-Go,” shared Mascariñas. “Kaya we can’t let Kai come back home alone. Ervin and Pamela need to be with him dahil alam namin na na-miss na nila yung Pilipinas.”

Kai and his dad Ervin are grateful to Chooks-to-Go for keeping their promise.

Granted this opportunity, the 17-year-old promised that he is more inspired to do his all come the global meet in Heraklion, Greece.

“Maraming salamat talaga sa Chooks-to-Go dahil kahit saglit pa lang kami dito, miss na namin ang Pilipinas. We can’t wait to get back home,” expressed Ervin.

“Chooks-to-Go is my one and only corporate sponsor and financial supporter for my U19 campaign,” Kai said.

“Sobrang thankful ako sa Chooks for making this happen.”
