Chery Tiggo brings back Aaron Velez as head coach

A familiar face will be calling the shots once more for Chery Tiggo.

Aaron Velez is back as the Crossovers’ head coach, the team announced on Monday.

“The experienced coach is returning to take the wheel and lead the Chery Tiggo Crossovers back to the top this coming PVL All-Filipino Conference 2023 on February 4,” the team’s social media post read.

After two seasons in the PVL, Chery Tiggo decided to put Velez in team management, putting Clarence Esteban as the team’s head coach prior to the 2022 PVL Invitational Conference.

The Crossovers struggled in the Invitational Conference but finished in the Final Four of the Reinforced tournament.

Velez was the head coach who steered Chery Tiggo to the top of the 2021 bubble season.
