Casiey Dongallo quashes transfer speculations, vows loyalty to UE

Casiey Dongallo has put an end to all the transfer rumors swirling around social media.

Over the past few days, rumors spread like fire that the sensational rookie out of University of the East is heading somewhere.

“I really don’t have a plan on leaving UE kasi nagsimula na po kami – nakikita naman po yung progress ng UE, so bakit aalisan ko pa?” said Dongallo after leading the Lady Warriors to a 26-24, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20 win over Adamson.

With this win, UE has already gotten past its record for the past two seasons (1-13 on both). The Lady Warriors are now at 2-6 for joint-fifth with Ateneo de Manila University and Adamson with six more games in the second round.

She revealed during the postgame conference that it was her promise to the team’s seniors to elevate UE from their lowly record the past two years.

“Despite po kasi na ang dami na naming losses nung round one, ginawa ko yun na inspiration na hindi porket UE, yung iba kasi sinasabi UE lang yan. Gusto ko lang po talaga i-prove na UE is something, na UE is new. Kaya sobrang halaga po talaga ng laro na ito kaya naging emosyonal po,” said Dongallo.

“Nagpromise po kasi ako sa seniors namin na aalis sila sa UE na iba naman po yung standing ng UE.”

Interim coach Obet Vital, who has been handling Dongallo since Grade 7, also chipped his views on the rumors.

He also made sure that they are committed to the Lady Warriors program for long term, especially with top hitter Jelai Gajero still recuperating from an ACL injury.

“I know there’s a lot of posts of her already in a UST uniform, and the talks with management with La Salle, and rumors about SGA and her. I just wanna clarify SGA and Frank Lao are committed to UE and the girls for three years, that’s his commitment he verified that also,” said Vital.

“All the UE girls are not going anywhere, as a matter of fact dadagdagan pa yan next year.”

After the Lady Warriors already eclipsed their dismal records in the past two seasons, Dongallo and Co. will seek for even more than the wish of UAAP Season 86 president Rod Roque of one more win.

“Sabi nga po ni Director Roque na one more win and we’re hoping to win more than one more game para naman maging masaya lahat,” said Dongallo.
