Cagayan dismantles undermanned Fourbees-Perpetual

The Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns got their V-League campaign off to the perfect start after annihilating Fourbees-Perpetual in three uneventful sets, 25-13, 25-12, 25-10 at the San Juan Arena.

Cagayan simply overwhelmed the undersized Fourbees squad, netting a 39-17 spike advantage and a 12-3 service ace gap. Cagayan Coach, Nes Pamilar took the opportunity to get all of his players a nice sweat as everyone from the team bar the Liberos scored a point.

Team captain, Angeli Tabaquero and former San Beda standout, Janine Marciano led all scorers with nine points apiece while Former FEU teammates, Wenneth Eulalio and Rosemarie Vargas trailed them with six.

Despite the dominating win, Coach Pamilar refused to feel complacent. “Marami pang kailangan maimprove ‘yung team. Kailangan lagi kaming prepared for all teams,” Pamilar said.

Four players from the Fourbees lineup missed the match due to the impending storm surge. Jeanine Delos Reyes, Team Captain, Ana Diocareza, Cindy Imbo, and Jessica Arceo weren’t able to board boats back to Manila after going to their respective provinces for the holidays as most boat lines were closed.

For their next opponent, Cagayan will face off against Baguio on April 9 at 4pm. Fourbees-Perpetual, on the other hand, will try to find their first win of the season against Coast Guard on April 9 at 2pm.
