Brownlee, Ginebra romp Alaska for dominant Governors’ Cup debut

The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s bid to regain their throne got off to a triumphant start following their dominant 102-83 victory over the Alaska Aces in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Sunday evening at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

The Gin Kings actually started slow, falling behind, 4-9. They then regained their bearings — much to the disappointment of the Aces — to unload an overwhelming 25-2 scoring blitz en route to a 29-11 edge with 1:08 left in the first quarter.

That would mark the start of the romp that saw the Barangay lead by as many as 24 points a few times in the game before cruising to the 19-point win.
