Brickman guides Kaohsiung to seventh win in T1


Kaohsiung Familymart continued its dominant run in the 2021-22 T1 League season, dealing New Taipei CTBC a 93-76 rout, Saturday at Kaohsiung Arena.

With the game knotted at 46-all at the half, the Aquas zoned in on DEA in the third canto, limiting them to just 14 points while putting up 28 points to gain the lead for good.

The lead would not go down to single digits in the final frame, leading by as much as 20 points, 90-70 after a Yu Huanya trey with 4:08 left.

This is Kaohsiung’s third win for the season again New Taipei. It took an 87-69 win last December 5, before following it up with a dominant 108-67 romping last December 18.

The Aquas went up to a league-best 7-1 slate. Meanwhile, New Taipei drop to a 4-4 record, remaining at third in the six-team league.

Jason Brickman once again had a hand in the win, finishing with 12 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and three steals.

Lithuanian import Mindaugas Kupšas led the way for Kaohsiung with 26 points and 30 rebounds.

Yu added 13 points built on three treys, while Ferrakohn Hall chipped in 11 points and five rebounds.

Marlon Johnson got 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead New Taipei. Mohammad Al Bachir Gadiaga tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Cleanthony Early produced 13 points and six rebounds as well.

Kaohsiung will next face Tainan TSG tomorrow at Kaohsiung Arena.
