BPI teams up with UP

The dawn of 2024 heralds a new era for University of the Philippines as it proudly announces its partnership with the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI).

This monumental alliance signifies a pivotal moment in the team’s journey toward excellence in UAAP Season 87.

BPI, a pioneer in Southeast Asia’s banking sector, commits its unwavering support to the nation’s premier state university. And this solidifies its pivotal role in molding the youth and extending its influence to the younger generation.

Atty. Agaton Uvero, the manager of UPMBT, expressed his elation at welcoming BPI into the Fighting Maroons family and the wider UP Community.

“As we gear up for UAAP Season 87, hosted by the University of the Philippines, this collaboration holds immense significance in our ongoing pursuit of excellence,” said Uvero.

“The backing we receive from esteemed institutions like BPI not only boosts our morale but also fuels our determination to strive for greatness. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to BPI for placing their trust in our team.”

TG Limcaoco, President and CEO of BPI, underscored the importance of empowering the youth and cultivating a culture of growth.

“BPI takes great pride in supporting the UP Fighting Maroons. Through this partnership, we aspire to inspire the younger generation to push their limits and embrace the values of excellence and diligence, which are cherished by both UP and BPI,” stated Limcaoco.

Head coach Goldwin Monteverde of the Fighting Maroons conveyed his gratitude and enthusiasm for this newfound collaboration.

“We are immensely thankful to BPI for their belief in our team and their generous support. Their confidence in us serves as a profound source of motivation, and we are eager to reciprocate this faith to our partners, sponsors, and the entire UP Community, both on and off the court,” remarked Monteverde.
