Robert Bolick sat out Northport’s game against Converge on Sunday at PhilSports Arena.
According to the native of Ormoc, he was nursing a hamstring injury but assured that he will be back when the Batang Pier takes on the Meralco Bolts on Thursday.
This was seconded by interim Northport head coach Bonnie Tan saying, “Si Robert Bolick before mag-end yung contract he will be back.”
Tan admitted that the five-year pro and Northport have yet to have a meeting of the minds regarding a contract extension. Bolick’s contract ends on January 31.
“Wine-work out na ng management. Timeframe? Hindi ko masabi,” continued Tan as new team manager Pido Jarencio has been heading the negotiations.
It can be recalled that Bolick signed a one-year, max deal with Northport last year that also allowed him to suit up for Gilas Pilipinas.
During the last two conferences, Bolick put up outstanding numbers of 20.0 points, 6.05 assists, and 4.86 rebounds per contest.
However, the Batang Pier failed to make the playoffs in the Philippine Cup while being booted out in the quarters in the import-laden Commissioner’s Cup.
Bolick though has remained patient in this process, sources close to Bolick’s camp told Tiebreaker Times.
The source also disclosed that there is great interest from T1 teams to bring Bolick to Taiwan.
