Biñan Tatak Gel and Pasay bounced back on Thursday in the 2026 MPBL Season at the Pasay Astrodome, scoring convincing wins in the round-robin elimination phase of the two-division, 28-team tournament.
Biñan turned a close contest into a dominant finish in the fourth quarter to defeat Quezon City, 75-63, while Pasay cruised past Parañaque, 83-48, in a wire-to-wire victory to recover from opening-game losses.
Carlo Lastimosa sparked Biñan’s comeback after the team trailed, 49-58, as he led a decisive surge that flipped the game in their favor.
Lastimosa finished with 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Nic Cabanero added 13 points and two rebounds.
Kenny Roger Rocacurva also contributed 11 points, nine rebounds, five steals, and three assists.
Quezon City slipped to 0-2 despite a strong all-around effort from MJ Joson, who posted 15 points, five rebounds, and eight steals, while Brian Rosalin added 11 points and three rebounds.
For Pasay, Christian Fajarito led the way with 12 points and two rebounds, supported by Steve Nash Enriquez and Lenard Santiago, who both finished with 11 points.
Paráñaque was paced by homegrown Paolo Castro, who scored nine points in the loss.
The tournament returns to the One Arena Cainta on Friday, featuring games between Gensan and Mindoro at 4 p.m., Bulacan against Batangas at 6 p.m., and Meycauayan against Manila at 8 p.m.
