An apparent fan page of University of Santo Tomas middle blocker Bianca Plaza posted on Facebook late Wednesday evening about the player’s lost custom Kobe 8 (ProTro Halo).
On a lengthy post by an account named “Bianca Plaza” with a bio of “Bianca Mikaela Plaza a Lady UST Golden Tigresses and Spikers”, it claimed that it hired a delivery service company to deliver six pairs of custom Kobe 8s but what the rookie middle blocker received were only five pairs with her shoes missing.
“This plea is to bring attention to an unfortunate incident that occurred during a recent delivery by Lalamove. On March 13, our order, which included 6 pairs of customized volleyball shoes, was delivered to the intended recipient, Bianca Plaza, a member of the UST Tigress volleyball team. However, upon receipt of the package, it was discovered that only 5 pairs of shoes were included, and the pair designated for Bianca Plaza was missing,” read the post shared by UST head coach Kungfu Reyes.
“This oversight is deeply concerning, especially considering the customized nature of the shoes and their importance to Bianca’s performance on the court. As a valued customer of Lalamove, we expect a high level of professionalism and care in handling our deliveries,” it continued.
The post also included an apparent conversation with the rider of the delivery service company. The page called out the behavior of the rider.
It was not clarified in the post when the delivery happened but it could have been on Wednesday morning as it read something about the rider wishing UST ill for its game against University of the Philippines, which was played in the afternoon.
The Tigresses moved to a spotless 6-0 record after beating the winless Fighting Maroons.
In the win, Plaza played with a different Kobe pair.
“Furthermore, I must express our disappointment in the behavior of the delivery rider who facilitated the transaction. Their arrogance and offensive remarks, including expressing ill wishes towards our team in their upcoming game against the UP Maroons, are completely unacceptable and unbecoming of a representative of your company. Fortunately, despite the missing pair, today’s game still favored the UST Tigresses,” said the post.
“We kindly request that immediate action be taken to rectify this situation. We ask for the prompt return of Bianca Plaza’s missing customized volleyball shoes, as well as an investigation into the conduct of the delivery rider involved. Additionally, we hope that appropriate measures will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future,” it continued.
“And if anyone has seen the Customized Tigress shoes with #22 on them, please help us get back Bianca’s shoes.”
